Sera Super Peat 500 g

Sera Super Peat is a natural peat granulate designed to recreate tropical blackwater conditions in freshwater aquariums. Many popular aquarium fish species such as discus, angelfish, and neon tetras originate from habitats with soft, slightly acidic, tannin-rich water.

When placed inside the aquarium filter, Sera Super Peat gradually lowers carbonate hardness (KH) and stabilizes the pH level, creating ideal conditions for sensitive tropical fish. The peat releases humic and fulvic acids, which improve fish health, support natural behavior, and protect the mucous membranes of fish.

The natural tannins released by the peat create a slightly amber-colored water effect, similar to rainforest streams. This environment helps reduce stress and provides a more natural habitat for many soft-water species.

Sera Super Peat also acts as a natural chelating agent, binding harmful heavy metals and contributing to improved water quality. When used regularly, it helps maintain a stable and healthy aquarium ecosystem.
